This chapter covers a cute handrail session. This rail always seems better in your head then it is when you actually get there and try to skate it. Boardslides fs, bs and an ollie over it went down but that was about it for the day. It’s small but I aint going to hit that thing, the run up always puts me off.
Thought I’d thrown in a throwback photo at the same spot. Dwayne (Meat Axe) Robinson doing a fs blunt slide down it. This is the best trick I can remember going down on it. No idea how he got the name Meat Axe, but I’m sure there is some gnarly story behind it. You don’t get a name like that for nothing. Shot this one on my old Nikon FM2n and 16mm fisheye back in the day. Can’t even remember when this was taken. Before 2009 at least.
Back to the present day now. Mitch Cunningham ducked out for a switch crook pop out in the alleyway next to it.
We caught the bus back into the city and stopped at the bus port for some cheap and nasty food. Finishing up with a view of the freeway at night. City life.
Featuring Quayde Baker, Mitch Cunningham, Phillip Marshall, Quentin Guthrie, Chris Gow, Lewis Rodan, Jarryd Lynch, Tom Matthews, John Hardless, Steve, Tom Bentley, Phil Batchelor and Dwayne Robinson from back in the day.
